A timeless experience in the heart of Cinque Terre
The Via dell’Amore is more than just a path — it’s an experience suspended between sky and sea.
This iconic 1 km walkway, carved into the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, connects the picturesque villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola and offers breathtaking views at every step.
After extensive restoration works, the Via dell’Amore has reopened in all its beauty, providing a safe, flat, and fully paved walk. It is the only trail in the Cinque Terre National Park accessible to everyone, including families with strollers and guests with reduced mobility.
The walk: between light, sea and emotions
The path begins near Riomaggiore train station.
From here, the trail gently opens onto the sea, guiding you through a landscape of light, salty breeze and dramatic cliffs.
Walking suspended above the water, you will reach Manarola train station. A short and comfortable pedestrian tunnel of about 100 meters will then lead you directly into the vibrant heart of the village, among colorful houses and unforgettable views.
Access by reservation only
To preserve the beauty and tranquility of the Via dell’Amore, access during the day is regulated.
Visitors must book a specific time slot in advance to enter the path.
One-way route and special access
To avoid overcrowding, the trail is usually managed as a one-way route, typically starting from Riomaggiore.
Guests staying in CETS-certified accommodations, such as Casa Capellini, may also have the opportunity to walk the Via dell’Amore starting from Manarola. Please ask us for details at check-in — we’ll be happy to assist you.
Access to the Via dell’Amore is included in the Cinque Terre Card, the only valid ticket for the park’s trails.

Perfect for exploring freely: it includes access to all hiking trails and unlimited travel on regional trains between La Spezia and Levanto, as well as local buses and public restrooms at train stations.
Cinque Terre Trekking Card
Ideal for nature lovers: it includes access to the park’s hiking trails and essential services.
